A religion is not just belief of certain propositions about a supernatural or semi-natural being. It involves that of course but more importantly it involves a certain organizational structure, some people dedicated part or full time to its propagation and administrative functions, a certain number of followers, a certain ritual to help preserve and reinforce its identity and its core beliefs and a certain practice to be constantly renewed or adapted in response to new problems faced by it in its institutional life. Its humanistic programme, if any, is only a part of the whole matrix.
