It was a reason to smile for some in the congregation at Vero Beach's Unitarian Universalist Fellowship. For others, a reason to tear up.
Neal Stannard, a veteran broadcaster for local news radio WTTB, stood behind the pulpit Sunday and gave his talk, "Beer, Bourbon and a Way Out of Hell."

"The voices of Gandhi, of Rusesabagina, of Ito, call out to us that there is an alternative — an alternative that may require even greater courage than that of the battlefield, but one that will yield more positive results," Stannard said. "These voices dare to suggest that the best way to honor our veterans is to not make any more of them. It is not an easy path ... but it is the only one that leads us out of hell."
