Ajahn Brahmavamso Mahathera (lovingly known to most as Ajahn Brahm) was born Peter Betts in London, United Kingdom in August 7, 1951. He came from a working-class background, and won a scholarship to study Theoretical Physics at CambridgeUniversity in the late 1960s. After graduating from Cambridge he taught in high school for one year before travelling to Thailand to become a monk and train with the Venerable Ajahn Chah Bodhinyana Mahathera.

Currently Ajahn Brahm is the Abbot of Bodhinyana Monastery, in Serpentine, Western Australia. He is the author of Opening the Door of Your Heart and Mindfulness, Bliss and Beyond: A Meditator's Handbook. His Dhamma talks are downloaded millions of times a year and it's now true to say that barely a second passes when there isn't someone, somewhere in the world downloading and listening to a Dhamma talk by Ajahn Brahm.

阿姜布拉姆法師 (Ajahn Brahmavamso Mahathera，通常暱稱作 Ajahn Brahm)，1951年8月7日出生於英國倫敦市，俗名彼得‧貝茲 (Peter Betts)。他來自一個工人家庭，上世紀60年代後期以獎學金在劍橋大學修讀理論物理。大學畢業後當了一年高中教師就前往泰國出家，接受南傳佛教大師阿姜查 (Ajahn Chah) 的訓練。

法師目前為澳洲西澳舍本庭 (Serpentine, WA) 覺乘寺 (Bodhinyana Monastery) 住持。他的著作包括 Opening the Door of Your Heart 和《禪悅：快樂呼吸十六法》(Mindfulness, Bliss and Beyond: A Meditator's Handbook)。他的佛法講座影音頻每年為網民下載達數百萬次，相當於每一秒中，世上總有人在某個地方下載和聽取法師的法音。
