Camp Quest is the first residential summer camp in the history of the United States aimed at the children of Atheists, Freethinkers, Humanists, Brights, or whatever other terms might be applied to those who hold to a naturalistic, not supernatural world view.

The purpose of Camp Quest is to provide children of freethinking parents a residential summer camp dedicated to improving the human condition through rational inquiry, critical and creative thinking, scientific method, self-respect, ethics, competency, democracy, free speech, and the separation of religion and government.

Through our programs we seek to:

1  Build a community for freethinking families
2  Foster curiosity, questioning, and critical thinking
3  Encourage reason and compassion as foundations of an ethical, productive and fulfilling life
4  Raise awareness of positive contributions made by atheists, agnostics, humanists, freethinkers, and other nontheistic people to our society
5  Promote an open dialogue about metaphysical questions that is marked by challenging each other's ideas while at the same time treating each other with respect
6  Demonstrate atheism and humanism as positive, family-friendly worldviews

Alex's comment:  Camp Quest is a free-thought summer camp project for kids.  There are overseas Camp Quest programs.  We at UUHK may organize Camp Quest Hong Kong!

Atheist Summer Camp Is Heaven on Earth for Nonbelievers

Located just north of Seattle, Camp Quest Northwest is a summer camp for atheists or children of atheists, self-described "freethinkers" or people not otherwise traditionally religious.

"We would encourage them to read, to go to church," said Chuck Wolber, one of Camp Quest Northwest's founders. "The best way to become an atheist is to study the Bible, and I definitely recommend the kids do that."

Alex's comment:  True!
