Christopher Hitchens died on 15 Dec 2011

This post was updated on .
I missed him. I'm sad that he is gone. He was a great writer, a great speaker and there is so much the world could learn from him.

He had been taken away from us by cancer.

Here is the link to Sam Harris blog on Hitchens.

While atheists around the world mourn for our loss. The Christians are using this opportunity to say Hitchens is now in hell.

Ask me again why I hate Christianity, and this is one of the reasons why. Christianity turn normal compassionate persons to heartless, hateful piece of shit.

Here is to Hitchens.

Alex's comment:  Highly recommended by Ursula Goodenough:  "Apparently this was the last essay he wrote before he died. If I could write something this good at ANY point in my life...."

I read this, and re-read this again.

"The chief side effect of this pain is numbness in the extremities, filling me with the not irrational fear that I shall lose the ability to write. Without that ability, I feel sure in advance, my “will to live” would be hugely attenuated. I often grandly say that writing is not just my living and my livelihood but my very life, and it’s true."

This is so heartfelt. And I just love the way he writes. He is one of the most witty writers I have ever the pleasure to read his work.
