Alex's comment:  Religion as opium of the people is perhaps the most famous attack Karl Marx has mounted on religion.  In this less-known longer quote, surprisingly, Marx's words on religion are in fact quite positive (at least not negative) and beautiful: "Religion is the sigh of the oppressed creature, the heart of a heartless world, and the soul of soulless conditions."  馬克斯對宗教的攻擊也許耳熟能詳：宗教是人民的鴉片。但在這則較長而少見的引述裡，馬氏出奇地對宗教說得頗正面（至少不太負面）和詩意：「宗教是被壓迫生命的嘆息，是冷酷世界中的熱誠，是無情現實中的心靈」。
