As a humanist activist and church-state specialist of 60 years, I think the NAP is one of the dumbest ideas I have come across. The NAP cannot secure a base of any size. It can only play into the hands of the theocratic fundamentalists. It can only strengthen the forces of reaction and set back progressivism and church-state separation. It almost sounds like Madalyn O'Hair coming back to haunt us.
